The Castro Theater hired Magic Plumbing to replace their sewer drain pipe. The theater has old plumbing and if you are a regular visitor you may have noticed the rain water would leak from the roof of the canopy onto the sidewalk. The drain was old and clogged and caused rain water to leak onto people standing in line on the sidewalk. We installed a new roof drain that rocked our world into the sewer line on the right side of the building. It took just 5 days for us to excavate the sewer line into the sidewalk and install a new drain that filtered all of the rainwater from the roof into the new sewer line. This installation did not require trenchless installation. We simply excavated the sidewalk and accessed a drain that was about six feet deep while people were still using the sidewalk during their regular commute to work every morning. You as a resident of the Castro probably did not notice our trucks or the deep hole in front of the theater. If you look to the left side next to the coffee shop you will notice a drain that now removes all of the rain water from the marquee roof. It’s not much to notice but a big plumbing job over the course of 5 days will now guarantee that you will not get wet when standing in line to watch your next favorite show at the Castro Theater. Another job completed by a San Francisco plumber in the Castro. Fabulous!

Trenchless Sewer Replacement, what does it mean?

Well, trenchless sewer line replacement is now a way of the future. The old way of replacing a sewer drain is to dig up the old pipe, by hand or with a machine, and install in a new one. This way is very labor intensive and can be very expensive when a line is in a difficult position, such as under a house, a road or under concrete.

The trenchless replacement technology saves money, grief and time and is particularly efficient when the sewer drain is under a house.

So how does trenchless sewer replacement work?

Using this new sewer pipe replacement method we excavate a hole at the building where the good pipe begins and we then excavete a small hole at the end of the sewer pipe near the curb at the street. We expose the sewer drain in each hole and cut out small sections of pipe. Next, we feed a large 3/4 inch steel cable between the two excavations. connected to this cable is a large metal cone shaped head that breaks the old pipe in place to exactly the size of the new trenchless sewer pipe. The new sewer drain is actually a black plastic pipe between 5 or 7 inches in diameter. This sewer drain is fused together by melting the ends of the pipe and joining them to create one continuous length of sewer drain without any joints, eliminating tree roots from entering the pipe.

As we pull the cable through the sewer drain with 10 tons of pressure, the splitting head bursts the old sewer drain and pushes it out of the way making room for the new sewer drain.

The actual replacement of the sewer drain usually only takes a few hours and the work can be done within one day. There is no problem pulling through under driveways or even residential and commercial buildings. This trenchless replacement technology works well and because the new sewer drain has no joints, is flexible so it will never crack or break and no roots can get into it.

The new sewer drain also called HDPE pipe is very smooth internally so the drain is very efficient for water, debris and toilet solids to flow freely.
Magic Plumbing specialize’s in trenchless sewer replacement.
We can replace your damaged sewer drain without digging up your driveway using the latest trenchless replacement technology.

Constant backups in a sewer drain pipe and drain pipes, in the garage, and around the house may indicate there is a growing problem within the existing drain system. Magic Plumbing will identify the problem with the drain and fix it permanently before it gets worse, creates an expensive messy flood and impossible to fix.
Advantages Of Trenchless:

Little or no digging or damage to your landscape. No removal of any concrete, driveway or patio. No future leaks or roots growing in your pipes again. No more clay pipe and orangeburg pipe. No more frequent drain cleaning or inconvenient backups.
What Trenchless Eliminates:

Tree roots in the Pipes. Constant drain clogs. Leaking broken old clay pipe and orangeburg pipe. Sewer flooding.
If you have any questions about trenchless sewer replacement, call Magic Plumbing.

We can SAVE YOU MONEY we will inspect your sewer pipe and provide an estimate for your options.
